Cinematography
Most wedding videographers shoot in a documentary style. When shooting a documentary, the goal is usually to get the shot and to show things exactly as they were. This is great for replaying a scene in a very literal way, but it often doesn’t capture the style, mood, and most importantly feeling in the important moments of your life.
My goal is to make your wedding look like a movie. I shoot in a cinematic style focusing on capturing genuine emotions, beautiful lighting, and fleeting moments. My inspiration comes from naturalistic cinematographers like Yves Belanger (Big Little Lies, Wild) and Joshua James Richards (Nomadland). My goal is not just for you to remember how your wedding looked, but how you felt in that moment.

Film Photography
There's really nothing quite like traditional film photography. It's timeless, grainy, and has an instantly artistic quality. I offer film photography for elopements and engagement sessions. (Due to the inherently slower, more deliberate nature of shooting film, I do not recommend film photography for full-sized weddings). I shoot professional medium format film (more detailed and fine-grained than standard 35mm film) using custom-made lenses from the 1970's. I also develop and scan my own film in-house. This approach allows me to consistently deliver classic and elegant photos with a fine art quality. I love to shoot outdoors in natural light, taking advantage of Colorado's amazing landscapes.
Please note that with this more traditional approach and with just 16 frames on a roll of medium format Kodak or Fuji film, this offering typically provides fewer photos than sessions and events shot with digital cameras. However, in my experience, this “limitation” has led me to be more careful and deliberate in my photography, and I find that when shooting film, I usually end up with more great shots than when shooting digital.
